I have been putting the wires under the screws. My new outlet doesnt have 4 push holes in back.
Confusing 3 Way Switch Wiring Found In Trying To Convert
3 black wires and 3 white wires outlet. But in that box there are 3 sets of wires going into the box there are red and white wires twisted together white and black twisted together and actually the main power wire going to the light switch i am wanting to change which has a black wire white wire and a little single lead wire going to this light switch twisted together. The brass screw is for the black wire and the silver screw is for the white wire and the bare wire is your ground and it goes to the green screw on the outlet. Many ovens are now wired with a separate white neutral wire however when installing a new oven in an older home it is found that the original oven circuit did not have a separate white neutral wire.
