How To Replace The Coolant Temperature Sensor
Ford 302 temperature sensor location. Drain at least one gallon of coolant to ensure the coolant level is below temperature sending unit. Since 54 the temperature sender was always located in the drivers side head. The car has an aftermarket mechanical water temp gauge installed. The sensor has a round plug which has wires coming from the wiring harness plugged into it. Type of radiator aluminum or brass temp thermostat type of water pump where you live when does it get hot stop and go traffic freeway speed at idle etc. Remove the wire by pulling straight up.
The factory temp gauge in the dash doesnt work. Its a 302 with 351 cleveland heads. There was no sending unit from the factory on the passenger side. V8 fix a bad temperature gauge motorcraft part. Please give us more information. If you remove it the base will look like a large bolt that screws into the intake manifold. The tbird parts suppliers have them macs might have them as well. Place a clean container under the radiator drain plug. Place your hand on the sensor that is mounted in the intake manifold just behind the thermostat housing.
