It is normal for the hub to be hot especially in the current warmth of the country. Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear then press home on your sky q remote.
Amber Internet Light

If your sky box is stuck on standby and wont turn on or is displaying a continuous or flickering red or amber light there are a few things you can do yourself to fix the problem. Each of our sky hub have a number of lights to show if everythings working as it should theres a problem or if your hubs doing something like updating its software. Press standby on your sky q remote then switch off or unplug your box at the mains. Restart your sky q box.
Hii have an amber broadband light on my sky q router while running thre broadband diagnostic tool it informs me that there isnt an issue in the area and it can connect to the box and internet but there is no connection. If your internet light glows solid green this indicates that your sky q hub is connected to the internet and is ready for use. This is by far the most common and annoying issue with the sky hub. Choose your hub and the lights you see to find out what these mean and anything you might need to do if you have a problem. If the internet light blinks amber this means your sky q hub has detected an internet connection and is initiating the connection process. Plug in and switch your sky q box back on at the mains.
As for the internet light being orange that isnt so normal. Check there are no lights on the front panel of your sky q box and all cables are securely connected. I have disconnected everything and plugged it all back in due to the c. When the beaming internet light is flashing amber theres an issue with your internet connection but youll already know that because whatever youre doing will be interrupted.
